While 18 USC 922 (q) is, indeed, a thing, it is not a major concern for folks who don't break the law. It is federal law, and would require a fed to charge. My perspective is that my LTC only gives me an out in Texas, not in any of the other states to which I travel. I don't map out all of the schools in OK or KS, for instance, which was my most recent trip.
