+17 on Central BBQ in memphis. I took my kids there a year ago, and they still talk about it.Keith B wrote:For pulled pork either Central BBQ on Central Ave. or Jim Neely's Interstate BBQ on 3rd st. What bbq restaurants would you suggest for pulled pork?Keith B wrote:I consider myself a BBQ coni-sewer as I grew up close to Memphis and along the Mississippi River where some of the best 'que in the country comes from. And, a family friend owns the biggest commercial BBQ pit building businesses in the country, Ole Hickory Pits. So, I got spoiled on really great BBQ ribs and pulled pork.
Most places have pretty good ribs. I like Charlie Vergo's best, but Central or Neely's are good.

Went to Rudy's yesterday for lunch in Waco, Tx and they had a sign that said " No unlicensed guns allowed", SO, apparently they have changed their policy.

Here is an adapted close version of the green chili stew recipe. Hope ya'll like it.
Green Chili Stew
Ingredients:
• 1/2 lb. smoked beef brisket, chopped (if you don’t have brisket, you might try using leftover roast beef)
• 1 medium onion
• 2 cloves garlic
• 1 (7 oz.) can chopped green chiles( I have used a can or two of chopped tomatoes and chilis here)
• 1 (15 oz.) can fire-roasted tomatoes
• 8 oz. green salsa
• 1 box beef stock
• Procedure:
• Pour all ingredients into slow cooker, cover and cook for 4-6 hours on low.
• Yes, that was the one step! Not bad for a simple dinner! And the results were wonderful
Note: Add vegetables or other ingredients, as desired, ex. Diced potatoes, sliced okra, roasted corn

That sign is required by TABC to be posted. Were there no other signs?papasan wrote:Went to Rudy's yesterday for lunch in Waco, Tx and they had a sign that said " No unlicensed guns allowed", SO, apparently they have changed their policy.

Thank goodness they changed their minds! I stop by whenever possible for the smoked turkey. It's the absolute best I've ever had. I would have been very irritated to have to keep on driving by. Darn, it's been a while...
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Thank goodness somebody bumped this after two years. The suspense about their signage was killing me.

But now bad guys with guns can come in because they won't be stopped by a 30.06 sign.
