I want to start a monthly Dallas CHL swap meet - CANCELED

#1

Post by HotLeadSolutions »

Dallasites (and anyone willing to travel to the big D)

I want to set up a monthly swap meet for CHLers. I have talked to the office building that houses my coffee shop (Stupid Good Coffee) and they have agreed to donate the conference room for the event free of charge.

In order to hold the event (free of charge) I will need a few volunteers. Namely someone to check and clear non CHL weapons at the door.

Tentative date for the first swap meet is Sat Oct 5.

Please use this thread to let me know if you can make it so ill have an idea of how many to expect.

Also, if you have any ideas on how to make the swap meet function smoothly, post those as well.

Address for the swap meet will be:

1910 Pacific Ave
Dallas 75201

Looking forward to hearing from you all...

Make sure you post it with a 30.06 sign like all the other gun shows. (j/k) :biggrinjester:

Sounds like a really neat idea. I will definitely try to make it if possible. :thumbs2:

I am liking the idea... if I am not having to travel for work that day I will be there.

1)Treat firearms as if they are loaded. 2)Point the muzzle away from non-targets.
3)Keep fingers off the trigger until ready to shoot. 4)Be sure of your target and backstop.

Hey Daniel, I'd be interested as well.

I & my buddy recently took your course 8/4. I was curious if you had discussed any of the stories you had shared with the class with the forum (guy hiding in your truck, etc)?

Thanks!

I see possible liability issues when the first idiot pulls out a loaded gun and accidentally puts a bullet through someone.

All weapons not carried concealed will be safety checked at the door. There will be no tolerance for drawing a loaded weapon PERIOD. (Unless of course they need to use it to shoot a bunch of liberal ninjas trying to hijack the event and kidnap us ;-) )

maybe my interest in this don't quite fit others but I don't see anywhere about signing up for notifications? Will purchases be ok? I have nothing at all anyone would give money for at the moment. It would be cool to meet up with some supposed like minded people.
