San Antonio meet and greet set

#1

Post by JALLEN »

Hows about next Saturday (7/20) at noon, Menger Hotel Bar, in front of that picture of Teddy Roosevelt, or as close as we can get.

We can wet our whistles, then go off to the River Walk for lunch. One of you locals make the call on that one. All I know is Casa Rio.

Any suggestions for parking? I only know the lot across from the Hyatt, which is OK but is there a better choice in that area?

I am posting this under a new title since the old title didn't not suggest what was afoot.

Who all is going to be there? Head Count, please.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I would love to, but have a prior engagement for the entire day.

Maybe I can make it for the next one.

Sounds good to me! Ok, the Rivercenter parking garage is smack in between the Menger and the part of the riverwalk that casa rio is on. Its off commerce right past the Marriott. I get turned around sometimes on Riverwalk level, ok, I get turned around all the time.

That being said, I'm in!

Rivercenter is the old Joske's isn't it?

I remember the huge department store built around the church, called St. Joske's, IIRC. I've been at River Center via the River walk but never on surface streets.

Any favored lunch places around there?

I would love to join you all but I will be shooting the Texas Tactical IDPA match at Cedar Ridge range that day. :fire
Also, I would suggest someplace like the Alamo Quarry as a less congested place to meet up and parking would be free.

Since only two of us seem to be up for this, next Saturday, should be postpone it to another time, or even place, more attractive to others in the area?

I should be able to make this Saturday, or another one.

Jayinsat, pecos, clarionite and anyone else.... would the next Saturday July 27 be better for y'all?

Unfortunetly for me, I have a commitment until 12 noon and it would take about an hour to get there. Would like to get together and can if you could move it to the following Saturday or other.
