For the record, and to followup - there were no "checkpoints" per se. There were isolated gates for entry and large bags were getting a quick look inside, but no other checks. The town's stance basically amounted to "We would really appreciate it if you left your guns at home"..
As a side note, apparently I know far more Rick Springfield songs that I thought, or care to admit. They had SmashMouth last year, that would have been pretty good!

There was a fair amount of LEO presence, but not bad. I did carry as there was a very long walk back to my car out in the middle of nowhere and my family was with me. Did I feel safe at the event, yes I think LEO had good coverage, and to be honest considering the environment I had already planned out "being a good witness" had anything unfolded, unless there was a direct threat to my family. With that many people around, and the certain mass confusion that would have ensued, the last thing I would have wanted was to be mistaken for a BG.

Yes I did carry. I live within walking distance..... Long walk but better than driving...... Felt much better carrying. They did have a sign posted at the entrance, same wording that was on the website (not 30.06). All in all, great concert and fireworks and no issues.jl39775 wrote:What was the outcome? Did you carry?
