"He claims to have legally purchased this firearm at a sporting goods store. This is being investigated He claims to be a concealed handgun license holder. This has been investigated and there is no evidence to support this claim," Garcia said. "He has indicated he always carries the gun."

The second suspect is trying to claim he is a CHLer and bought his gun from a retail store...

what led to the campus shooting and he replied, "Someone bumped me."
Investigators say it appears one of the suspects and one of the victims have known gang affiliations.

Yep, there you go, GANG-RELATED. Not a CHLer, not some "crazy NRA member", but likely a gang-member...the people who perpetrate the majority of firearms-related crimes.RPB wrote:and neither was 1st to call 911?hmmm

Re: LonStar Collage shooter CHL findings
None were a responsible CHL holder. CHL holders know that guns are not allowed in schools.....DOH!

You would thank someone would have come up with the idea of banning gangs. Then this would not have happened because gangs would not exist.K.Mooneyham wrote:Yep, there you go, GANG-RELATED. Both parties claim to have a CHL, but at least one of them has known gang affiliation.
Yet, gang affiliation is a DQ for a CHL.
Hmmm...methinks someone has, as our illustrious Vice President/Secretary of State/any other politician says, mis-spoken.

Re: LonStar Collage shooter CHL findings
They gotta claim they are CHL's and stick with that story (never mind false) or they will not get their cash from MaoBama for staging this fiasco.
Just as long as the Media gets the message out and keeps it in the forefront, the setup was a success.
Surely the public is not so stunned they cannot see thru this setup to make CHL and Texas appear to be part of the problem!

No, because the left wants gangs to exist. Consider all the benefits: 1) they keep the poor and vulnerable cowed and in-line and under control; 2) they help maintain a visible threat that justifies increased police power; 3) their crimes can be conflated with other crime statistics and be used to justify taking weapons away from law abiding citizens who live outside their areas of operation; 4) unlike law abiding citizens who believe in our Constitutional rights and are dispersed all over the country and not always so easy to identify, gangs are highly visible, readily identifiable, and concentrated in certain areas, so if they are ever a threat to the TPTB they can be rolled up rather easily; and 5) gangs can be manipulated in various ways that help the TPTB attain their objectives.jmra wrote:You would thank someone would have come up with the idea of banning gangs. Gangs don't threaten the TPTB. They mostly affect the lives of the poor and downtrodden who the progs don't really care about anyway, as they are just tools for aggregating power. Since they don't affect the middle class all that much they are not really a political issue that TPTB need to worry about.

Went to this school almost 10 years ago for a couple of classes and it was getting bad then. A lot of car break ins. I am not surprised it was gang related!

I always figured that gangs were a good way to bring in taxes for a liberal-progressive crook mayor. Such as, there is a gang problem in a given city and a public outcry about the violence. You, the liberal-progressive mayor and/or city council, say that you need to put more law enforcement on the streets to combat the problem, and to do that, you need more money. You float a tax increase of some sort and its pushed as enabling the hiring of more law enforcement. When you get the money, you spend a little of it on something related to law-enforcement, and dole the rest out to your cronies...the violence isn't brought down any, so lather, rinse, and repeat. The dimbulbs never seem to catch on...and law enforcement officers who have to actually deal with dangerous thugs and gang-bangers never get the help they are promised.VMI77 wrote:No, because the left wants gangs to exist. Yep, and you can bet, if we ever get to the point of confiscation, they won't be confiscating the guns of gang members --only those of us who were law abiding before stupid laws deliberately turned us into criminals.K.Mooneyham wrote: I always figured that gangs were a good way to bring in taxes for a liberal-progressive crook mayor. Yea I actually mentioned this shooting in my posting regarding the violence in Houston. I really don't think people understand the sheer stupidity of violence & crime here in Houston when it comes to gangs and wanna be thugs. When I mention things like this to friends in Austin they always respond with, "why do you still live in Houston." You need to leave! lol.

Re: LonStar Collage shooter CHL findings
Years ago I split time between an office in New Orleans and Houston. The second happiest day of that career was the day I closed the Houston office. The happiest day was the day I handed the keys to the New Orleans office to my hand picked replacement and moved to Ellis Co.Awslater wrote:Yea I actually mentioned this shooting in my posting regarding the violence in Houston. I don't think there is enough money to move me back to either location. No more hurricane prep for me.
