Under Texas Penal Code 46.03(a)(1), the board authorized specific school employees and other persons to possess certain firearms on school property, at school-sponsored or school-sanctioned events, and at board meetings in accordance with board policy CKC," an email from the school district stated.

Dunn said people chosen to carry weapons will undergo "rigorous" training with law enforcement on how and when to use force.

"The safety and security of our kids and our staff are of the utmost concern for us and we hope this helps us address some of the issues that every district in Texas faces," he said.
Dunn said the new policy does not allow citizens to carry firearms on campuses or at events, even if they have a concealed handgun license.
CHL Parents picking up sick kids at nurses office still need to leave gun in car in school parking lot, when going in to sign out the kid, and hope it's there when they get back, same as now. But it's a HUGE step in the right direction.

And maybe some of the parents who have CHL could go to a school board meeting with facts about CHLers and expand the scope of what they started. I agree, though, it is a HUGE step in the right direction.

In the words of one of the Marines in Red Dawn 2012, what a "motard".

Maybe he should consider arming teachers to prevent those assassins from assassinating teachers.

I would dare say only a few schools will allow teachers and staff to carry and even fewer will ever allow anyone else with a CHL. We need a bill to do away with the restrictions for K-12 to pass. I have written my reps asking for it and hope everyone else will too.

LOL
I asked if he knew what the word assassin meant. He was saying in the article that teachers with a CHL would be assassins if they had to use their gun against a BGWAG. :headscratch
