My First Carry: The Wally Walk

#1

Post by jayinsat »

Got my plastic in the mail last night, 11/16/12 and did my Wally Walk today. Went to Sam's club to take my son shopping. We had pizza together, shopped and then went to Walmart (right next door). Did some more shopping and picked up a few shirts to help with the layering. From there we went to Academy Sports and outdoors and got more ammo. All-in-all, not bad. I felt neither guilt, fear or discomfort. In fact, I felt empowered yet humble.

I will admit, I felt like the black version of John Travolta in Staying Alive strutting around the stores.

Pretty cool! :coolgleamA:

Glad it went well. Would have been surprised if it didn't.
The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

Sounds like a great first carry.

Was WalMart out of ammo? How are the prices over at Academy? I have only checked them a couple of times and thought they were a little high.

Every time I compare Walmart and Academy, Academy is cheaper. Plus, Academy matches competitors prices and usually has more stock, at least in San Antonio.

That said, yes, Walmart was out of ammo.

That's cool about Academy. I'll have to check them out again.

How does price matching work? My only experiences generally require a store flyer of some sort, and I've never seen an ad for ammo.

In cabelas, you just need to mention the price at another local store, they call to confirm the price, and then the price is matched. It's pretty nice.
