Hello all,
New to the forum and looking forward to participating and reading all the useful info.
I am about to send my paperwork in for my chl. I have a two traffic tickets that have yet to be paid but I am paying them shortly. Will those affect me getting my chl application approved? I know I should stay on top of my stuff but forgot about them until now.
Also I have a few toll fees I owe txdot. Will that consider me delinquent or oweing state agency money...? There was the one disqualified on there that said something like that.
Thank you for the help
JP

Re: Eligibility question and new to the forum
I see you are new to the forum, so WELCOME!
If the unpaid traffic tickets have resulted in a warrant, I'll bet you could have an issue.
On the toll fees, how delinquent are you talking?
Isn't the better answer to take care of your obligations and pay whatever tickets and fees you owe? The longer you dodge them , the worse it gets. They won't go away by avoiding them.
My opinion, for what it is worth. I am not a lawyer nor an instructor, so I may have no clue what I am talking about.

Traffic tickets for simple speeding don't disqualify you. More serious traffic offenses like drunk driving can.

Don't want to get caught in a warrant roundup.....I live in Collin County and its funny to look at the active warrant list on the sheriff's website - almost all traffic or toll related.....
