Re: Types of ammo?
Since I train dogs for protection I gotta ask. Are your dogs actually trained for this or are they just really protective and capable?

If you're shooting the dogs, I suggest JHP types of ammo instead of FMJ.ldparr21 wrote:Xdsc .40 with guard dogs.

That was apparently a horrible way for me to ask a question. What kind of ammo do yall trust your lives with, opinions, suggestions?

I think there's no magic bullets and any premium JHP from a good company will do. I got a good deal on Golden Saber so I carry that.C-dub wrote:It was bizarre. Re: Types of ammo?
I understand the whole magic bullet such as glazers and magsafes which arent proven very reliable. Ive done quite a bit of research on the guard dog rounds trying to find something bad about them and the only thing I have found that is "bad" is that they only penetrated 9 inches into ballistic gel after passing through 2 1/2 inch pieces of sheetrock and a couple layers of denim. In my mind correct me if im wrong but that sounds like a perfect self defense round also considering hollow points tend to penetrate further which doesn't seem necessary guard dogs are also a fmj profile obviously meaning great feeding reliability with consistent expansion. Im not trying to get on a soapbox just explaining my thoughts on the subject.bizarrenormality wrote:I think there's no magic bullets and any premium JHP from a good company will do.
