Picture submitted with application packet not used?
Ok... I sent in two photos, along with the passport holder thingy, with my packet. My status showed photos received once updated. Much to my surprise, when I reveived my license, they did not use the photos. My old drivers license pic has been used. So, my CHL and TDL have the same photo from like 8 years ago. This happen to anyone else?

I wish it had happened to me. My CHL pic is horrible. Afer asking me to remove my glasses for the pic, my CHL instructor asked me to stop squinting. I proceded to open my eyes wide open, kind of streaching my eyes, when he took the pic catching me by surprise. He would not re-take the pic, even if I offered to pay for the re-take. I look like this in my CHL pic.bimfn wrote:Ok... I sent in two photos, along with the passport holder thingy, with my packet. My status showed photos received once updated. They told us during the last instructor's course that they were trying to merge technology and just use the DL picture...Guess it has happened.

In my instructors course this week, they had said the interface betwween the two systems wasn't up yet. Maybe yours was a test.

Why do they have to use a picture of your face? That"s just one part of your body.

My pre-retirement DL (Clean shaven) picture is VERY different from my post retirement CHL (bearded) pic...I can already see it now, "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to step out of the vehicle and place your hands..."

hey same thing here! Except I'm not retired I just decided to stop shaving. My DL picture makes me look boyish and my CHL pic makes me look like a convict or like a mug shot.v-rog wrote:My pre-retirement DL (Clean shaven) picture is VERY different from my post retirement CHL (bearded) pic...I can already see it now, "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to step out of the vehicle and place your hands..."

Going through the long walk through San Diego Airport a few years ago, a TSA agent looked at my driver's license and said, "You don't have a beard in this picture." I looked at him and said. "I didn't have a beard when I got in this line." I thought immediately that I had screwed up. He just laughed and said, "I guess I asked for that, didn't I?"

Re: Picture submitted with application packet not used?
Well, just got my plastic, compared it to DL. My DL pic is on the blue background, the pic on CHL is on white background, taken from the pics I sent in.
Re: Picture submitted with application packet not used?
Well, so far, I am the only person I have heard of this happening to. I had submitted a question in the "Waiting Room" thread to see what the guys just now receiving their plastic would report, but, the thred was cancelled as the moderator thought it was a duplicate to this one, and hasn't responded to my request to reopen.
My process did seem to take longer than others... close to 2 months. Perhaps I was handed off to a technician wanting a test subject.

Re: Picture submitted with application packet not used?
I would send the plastic back! You spent good money on those photos, demand they use them! It doesn't make any difference if it takes DPS six months to get it the way you want 'em. It's the principle that is important!
