Carry in Oklahoma Casino

#1

Post by gwtrikenut »

Can I carry my weapon into the hotel of a casino in my luggage? I know I can't carry in the casino where gambling is happening, but really don't want to leave in my truck all night in the parking lot.

Oklahoma State Laws are not the same as Indian Nation Laws.
I don't know the answer to your question as I am not familiar with the gun laws of the Indian Nations in Oklahoma.

That is what you need to find out.

Any thoughts on how this applies to road-side gas stations? I frequently travel HWY69/75 between Dallas and I-40, and my preferred place to stop is the Choctaw Travel Plaza in Atoka. It's clean with decent prices and a convenient spot to walk my dog. If I enter the store to use the restroom, am I considered on tribal property and subject to tribal law? It's worth noting that they have several video poker (or slot, I can't remember) machines inside.

I thought tribalk law only applied to tribe members and others living on the reservation. The link AEA posted supports that. If so, you can't violate laws that don't apply to you.

Trust menu do notnwant tondeal with the headache of law on those Indian lands. That was where I was arrested 6 years ago and it was in the parking lot of Choctaw. Smply put I had no idea what traffic laws I had violated, and granted I was 18 and one of my passengers had marijuana, but the point from cop initiated the stop till I was in handcuffs was so conduluted it took 1 yr and several thousand dollars to unravel to the point where it was expunged from my record. The laws were bizarre, for the tiny amount of marijuana we were caharged with felony CDS? And all kinds of bother weird things, by thentime we got to the courtroom I only had a misdemeanor

Still to this day I'm abit cloudy to how things work there.

There were few "sentences" in there that I had to read more than once.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
