Office Workers - How Do You Carry?

I did a search under the CHL discussion and did not see this covered. I apologize if it has already been discussed.

I routinely dress business casual for work in an office environment. I do not feel that I can actually carry "on my person" during work, so I'm curious as to how other office workers carry.

I am not allowed to carry at work since they posted a 30.06 sign at the main entrance. But if I was allowed, I would wear what I do everywhere else I carry. If it works everywhere else, I figure it would work at work. There are also some day timer set ups that can carry a pistol, but I would be worried that it might get " forgotten " in a room or at desk and that would not be a good thing should someone open it up to see who it belongs to. I like to keep my weapon on my person.

I don't carry at work yet. I want to spend some more time getting used to carrying first.

People you work with 40+ hours a week are going to conceal from than strangers on the street. I DO NOT want to be make at work.

I think I will try a Smart Carry for deep concealment.

The beauty of working in a "small" office is that everything is a "known" factor...

My boss/partner is a staunch conservative, we are both politically active and are precinct chairmen in our districts...We discuss at great length issues, and are both pro 2A...

Does than mean I tell him I carry??? No...I don't have to...

He just refers to me as "added security"...So I tell him he still has to take a bullet if I have too as well!!!

I know everyone has different situations, and I don't want ya'll to be jealous or nothin'...

And to think we still get a lot of work done...hmmmm, go figure...

Ohhh, and if I worked for a firm that did have a "no-gun" policy in the workplace...

Well, lets just say there will not be a lot of "known factors" in an environment like that...

I've done it before, and I'll do it again...Insurance companies in my opinion, who are behind these company policies, are absolutely no authority over me...

I can always find work somewhere else, if for some reason, they wish to intrude upon my personal business...

I don't consider any of this to be a big philosophical struggle with me...

Some may feel different, and thats ok...Ya'll are still tops in my book...

Does where you work have to have a sign or is "company policy" enough? They also have a policy of no guns on company property, your car..Now, for the car, do they need to have reason to search it or what? I would at least like to have a gun there..

IWB for me, and also another guy at the office. The boss is ok with it, as he knows we both carry. He (the boss) is a good friend whom I've shot with and have had many a dinner at his house.

I don't usually tuck my shirts as the office is casual dress, but I will be looking at a Comp-Tac Shirt Tucker when winter rolls around.

I recommend a fanny pack. Nothing says "dress casual" like pressed khakis, a dress shirt, no tie, and a big, dorky fanny pack! (in tactical black, of course)

I've been carrying in my computer case. Now my office has distributed computer back packs that are even bigger. I think that's what I'll be carrying in from now on. I'll probably try to rig some type of nylon holster in there to keep it secure.

Being self employed and dealing with many different companies on a weekly basis does not lend well to one specific method of carry.
I could end up anywhere from an oil field to a hotel conference room to the office of the CEO of a major corporation.
I've found that what works best for most cases in ankle carry. A SW 340PD scandium J frame 357 mag in a Galco ankle glove is comfortable, secure and very concealed.
