It usually takes 25 minutes or longer for them to answer. Just put them on speaker and do some surfing while you wait.

I have called them twice and both times it's been a 25+ minute wait, I just stick them on speaker and go about my business till they pick up.

I get the idea that they would prefer that nobody called them. I renewed a couple of months ago, did the paperwork on line and them mailed the CHL100 form. The on line lookup never did say any more than they were waiting for the CHL100 to arrive. I got the new license in the mail and yet a week later it still read the same. As long as you got a signed receipt that they received your CHL100 you should be good, but I understand that it is annoying to wait a long time, or longer than most, and not hear anything. If the governor and legislature have their way, it might take a lot longer than 25 minutes to get a live person......

What exactly are you trying to contact them in regards? It may not be worth the wait if someone here can answer your question.

Their phone system is odd. I called them once and it put me through a 9 option menu. I hung up and called again, to what sounded like someone breathing on the line, then it went dead. Called back one more time and waited for 15 minutes until I got a hold of someone...to which they were no help.

FWIW, I renewed my DL this past Tuesday. The check cleared yesterday (two days later) and my DL renewal receipt said I would have my new DL by 25 March. Go figure....

Have faith, Rome wasn't built in a day....either.
