My wife qualified with her revolver against my better judgement. She got to the point to where she just did not like going to the range anymore as the gun hurt her hand (S&W Airweight). For Christmas, I got her an XD9 subcompact and she again loves to go to the range. But she cannot carry as her license will not allow. What does she need to do to modify from NSA to SA? I think just take the course fire and send in paperwork, negligable fee, and no new passport photos ar any other paperwork.
Any help would be appreciated,
WT

Re: Modification
I believe she'd need to go back to an instructor and re-take only the proficiency portion of the test. Assuming she passes, the instructor would give her an updated proficiency certificate (and submit the update to DPS as well). Then you'd fill out the DPS form and submit it with the new proficiency cert and voila....
Here's the DPS form...

Don't forget the fee for a modified license... I believe it's $25.RoyGBiv wrote:I believe she'd need to go back to an instructor and re-take only the proficiency portion of the test.
