My company is so completely uptight about guns that I don't discuss any aspect of guns with anyone there any more. I was a little more open early on, but early on they did not prohibit guns anywhere on the premises or parking lot. I also wised up to "the fewer people that know the better" theory.
The Federal Gun Free Zone doesn't care about the activity. As far as I know, without a CHL the only exception is if you live within 1,000 feet.
