CHL Class taken: 06/26/10
Rec'd CHL Class Proof: 06/30/10
Mailed To DPS : 07/01/10
DPS Rec'd : 07/06/10
Processing App : 07/20/10
Fingerprints Rejected: 07/30/10
Fingerprints Redone: 08/03/10
Fingerprints Rejected: 08/10/10
Fingerprints Redone: 08/11/10
License Pending Printing: 08/11/10

In checking with DPS, background check was completed and license sent for printing 08/09/10. Received email on 08/10/10 from L-1 that second fingerprints were rejected. How can DPS complete background check and send license for printing before fingerprints come back rejected a second time? Well, license has not been printed yet. 43 days and counting. Just hope the 3rd set of prints are accepted. :txflag:

6/27: Class taken
6/28: Packet mailed via certified mail
6/30: Packet received
8/7: Status indicated "mailed"
8/12: Plastic received

That makes it 45 days "mailbox to mailbox" for me.

I thought they could only reject your prints once? From what I've heard if the second set of prints are no good they just do a more detailed background check. At least, that's what I was told when I went to have them redone, as my fingerprints are as good as not having any.

Must be nice. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get one.

The lady that took my prints for the second time at L-1 said fingerprints could be rejected up to 5 times. That means you could have to send them in 6 times. After that, according to this L-1 technician, they push the application on through. Not sure what that means, more background check or what.

As my signature says, it has only been 28 days since I hand delivered my packet and all I am waiting on now is the "Manufacturing" Process... I am assuming the DPS is waiting on a pile of requests to print to actually get them all printed...

I sure hope not. I had to get the Governor's Office involved to get DPS moving on mine. It's finally in "Manufacturing Pending", and I've been told, in person on the phone, by DPS that I should have it in eight days. If I do have it by then, it will be more than three months since I applied and almost two months since everything except the background check was complete.

It looks like there are at least 3 of us in the same "Manufacturing Punding" boat... Hopefully next week we will have our plastic :)
