Lawyer Recommendation for CHL

I have searched the Forums, but could not find a post asking/recommending a list of local Dallas/Ft Worth lawyers for CHL citizens. I would assume it would be good to have the card/number of a CHL informed lawyer on your person in case any problems arise from a legal use of deadly force. I have read many articles when a CHL citizen used deadly force and were arrested and booked.

could we sticky something like this. maybe others could put lawyers up they have experience with.
seems like it would be a valuable source. nothing like word of mouth.

I do not have experience with either, but concealedcarrylegal seems to be a bit better of a service than chlpp. Chlpp only covers you to the grand jury phase, while concealedcarrylegal covers you for both criminal and civil trials if necessary.

I agree...They are not hobbled by distance or other logistical issues...They will be there when you need them to handle yer stuff...I was told anywhere in Texas, basically...

Now if you are out of state and have an issue where we have reciprocity, I believe they are trying to work out some kinks in that regard...Lawyers are pretty darn good about networking...

These are the guys that handled our Houston local negligent discharge at the gun show earlier this year...That "single" charge of Deadly Conduct was dismissed...So I believe thats pretty effective...

I saw them linked via the Texas Concealed Handgun association... they seem to have quite a bit of info on their web site. One thing I've come to appreciate is, you want this set up in advance vs. having to worry it after something has happened.

I signed up with Pre-Paid Legal at the end of our CHL class. I think our provider law firm is Ross & Matthews which is in Ft. Worth.

I emailed these folks this afternoon...stated I would be interested in more information, and could not locate the terms of their contract on their website. I received a polite offer to email me a copy of their contract for review.

I've noticed several of these types of CHL insurance plans popping up lately, but their are VAST differences in their coverage and terms. I'm looking at several and comparing...if I ever "pull the trigger" (pun intended ) on purchasing this type of insurance, I'll post what I learned on this journey.

Can you give a little more detail? This is the first instance of an actual use of a service of this type that I've heard of. Any details regarding how you were treated, response time, competence, etc. would be quite illuminating.
