And who are these "special people"?

I am proud to:

Live in Texas,
Have Rick Perry as my governor,
and carry a LCP with a Crimson Trace!

It's good to know that a single JHP .380 will drop a coyote. :hurry:

I sure would!
Maybe not the snake, but if the coyote is close enough I'm sure not takin any chances!!
You don't even have to hit it, just a shot in it's general direction should scare it off.

Judging from some of the stories floating around, the well-trained, physically fit security detail might not be able to keep up.

More likely, though, he just likes to work up a sweat alone. Physical exertion helps clear the mind, and I'd think he'd value some time to do that every morning.

Sure, but only if you're not at the zoo.

A Ruger .380 would not have been on my short list of guesses.
I would have guessed he'd be a 1911 guy.
Maybe a Les Baer with Lone Star grips.

Heck, Kay Bailey Hutchison carries a .357 revolver. You go, girl.

Ms. Medina carries an XD, 9MM IIRC. She's got a good gun,
now she needs to get a CHL to go with it.

SIA
Wonder if Kay carries her .357 in her jogging shorts? :headscratch

I doubt the Governor of Texas is really "scared" of snakes.

Knowing Perry, I wouldn't be surprised if he planted this coyote just to get this in the news. The guy is a master politician.
I just wish he was actually conservative when he governed. He's getting my vote over Bill White, but Perry is NO conservative by any means when you look at his actions.
Listening to his words though, you'd think he was Reagan incarnate.

Politically connected -- in some of the "may-issue" states, the politically connected or unbelievably famous are, for practical purposes, the only ones who can get concealed carry permission.
