Hello tvone.....If you are in the East Texas area (north of Tyler) give me an E-mail. I pull slides back and load magazines for those with problems. Also give one on one classes if needed. Those who have limited strength are the ones who need the CHL most! Take Care

TVone. I trained a lady one time w/ degenerative bone desease. Her hands were very weak if there was any repetative work. I talked to the instructor that I knew well & he said she needed to be able to charge her own Weapon. Someone could load for her. My reasoning w/ him went like this.
At home she can take ten minutes to load it. She can charge her own a couple of times, sometimes three times. What she cannot do is load 6, charge, & shoot reload & charge the weapon the 10 times required to go through the shoot. She will never need to reload that many time in trouble. She appears to be a victim more than a health man. She should have the opportunity to defend herself even if she is slower than you or I am, sir. He thought only a moment & said, "you are right". He let me load for her, charge her weapon, & hand it to here in single action mode. She shot a 235. For her physical condition that was awsome. :fire Try talking to the instructor. See if yours will agree to above reasoning.

I'll second the P99c vote. They have several trigger styles to fit just about any preference (AS = SA/DA, QA = Glock style, DAO = DAO) as well as interchangable backstraps for individual hand sizes.

Plus it's a damn fine shooting gun.

Semi-autos.......

Hello tvone......Students can use my autos and only pay for the ammo. I see no need to buy a handgun just to qualify. My lady student ratio is about 34%. Use a auto to qualify with and carry a snub .38" or whatever.

I've got a couple things. First, when I took my class, at the range the people who had handled guns before and had some knowledge about them were allowed to qualify first, then help the people who needed it when they shot. I helped an elderly lady who had a beretta tomcat i believe. I was allowed to load her magazine and get her gun in battery for her. I don't know if this is done at every class, but I read in this thread that another class did the same thing.

Second, if she carries a revolver, why not just qualify with it? She'll have the revolver only notation on the liscense, but that's what she carries anyway.
