Hi daroy99, welcome to the forum. And super congrats on the active license!! :clapping: :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

From DPS receiving your packet to approved is only 20 days! Now that's downright spooky! Wow and double wow!

Who'da ever thunk receipt to approval in less than 3 weeks????

I was pleasantly surprised also. I had read the horror stories about Harris County on this forum. Maybe it's because I'm only 21 and they only go back 3 years? Either way, I think the license might actually come before I get my mtac for Christmas, who would've thought.

I called in today to follow up on the documents that I sent in because of their request. Turns out the lady, which is my case manager, is on vacation until next Monday. I was like; there isn't anyone else that can handle my file???

No plastic for me for at least two more weeks.

Lived and worked in Harris County for most of 30 years. Had an out of state background check for a no-charge juvenile arrest. So that is plenty fast to me. Hopefully they keep doing whatever they've been doing because it seems to be working.

Update:

I finally got in touch with the person that was processing my information. She received the documentation and now it has to be forwarded to their legal team for review....

I have to wait for at least a month to get the decision.

It's going to be 100+ days before I get the plastic.

She did say people with no records of any kind, any arrests, get priority processing....

I responded, "That’s nice," I hope nobody ever falsely accuses you of anything....

I had an old arrest (no charges). I sent in the documentation with my application at the end of November and got my plastic the other day. I'm not sure what is going on with yours if it was dismissed and they have the docs they needed.
