I am like everyone else here...I believe that when time is of the essence I do not want to be chambering a round. When I was first carrying (I carry a Glock 22) I read an article that helped. Empty your gun and remove the magazine....rack it and put it back into your carry holster...then wear it and do what you would normally do...and believe me that is a lot. I am a carpenter and I work with it...clear land on my property and am currently putting in a foundation...ie...digging, running equipment and so forth and listen for the click...from time to time pull it out and dry fire it just in case you did not hear the click. I never did and feel very comfortable carrying with a round in the tube. I of course have a holster with a trigger cover. If it had not worked for me I would have gone to the Kimber 45 ACP. Maybe this will help.
