We've gone into a "bar and grill" for dinner on a Friday night, a late dinner - like 8pm dinner once DH finally got home from work. They're still serving food, the bar band started playing at 9pm when the lights dimmed. At any rate, I did not feel comfortable there. There was no 30.06. There was no 51% sign.

I didn't relax until we left.

Was I wrong to carry there?

Depends. Did you check their liquor license to see if it was a 51% location?

The burden of proof is on Us, we have to be proactive in checking. If there's no sign, or a question about the sign posted, it's up to Us to verify their license, plain and simple.

Haven't verified. How do I go about that? Just ask them or can I find out online?

I'll check it out before we go back.

Walk in and ask to see their ABC license.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If it's on the internet, thank a geek.

Or just call it their 'Liquor Licence'.

It should be displayed somewhere that anyone can read it, look around for a bunch of licenses and such on the wall together. Then look for the one that says "TABC Mixed Beverage Permit" on it.
