NRA Life Membership deal back in effect?

Re: NRA Life Membership deal back in effect?
I'm willing to try too if someone will sponsor me.
I've been meaning to do it for a while anyway. And I have a couple family members that are annual members who keep hounding me to join. It would give me more than a little satisfaction if the next time they talked to me I could casually tell them that I was a life member and that I _might_ be able to get them a deal on a life membership if they wanted ... Heh, heh.
Anyway, if anyone is still interested in sponsoring me on this deal, please PM me.

only problem is, the sponsor has to pay for you upfront.
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

Re: NRA Life Membership deal back in effect?
So what's the status on this? The current life member has to pay for your membership? I just became aware of this promotion.
I have been a NRA member for many years, and for $300 I would sign up as a life member. I just renewed my membership a few months ago for two years, figuring that with our current administration the NRA can use all the cash flow they can get.
Thanks,

Re: NRA Life Membership deal back in effect?
This was actually a program to enroll family members for $300 and after the first week when a few 'friends' were enrolled, they appear to be accepting family only. However, if you knew a life member well enough, as in personal contact, he could probably get away with listing you on the form NRA mailed out. The sponsor would have to submit the payment and your credentials would be sent to him.
This ends March 31st.

Just an update here: I got my packet yesterday, along with my card, welcome letter, bylaws and badges, making me an official life member. Thanks again, Mike.

I hate to game the system, so I guess I'll have to get my Life Membership next year when corporate bonuses roll around. (My employer is actually still profitable, and isn't getting a bailout.)
