I think you had a good idea when you said you'd talk to him the next time he was in your store. That way it is an informal setting and you're both in a COP-shop. BTW, is it the one at I-45 and NASA Road 1?lunchbox wrote:I could, but I don't think it will help at all.

Re: disarmed by Friendswood PD
I'll throw this is also, not that it changes the situation with the traffic stop.
Chief Bob Wieners is a great guy and you couldn't find anyone who supports CHL more than he does. He once told me that every citizen who isn't disqualified should have a CHL. He said this in response to my comment that at one time, Friendswood's Zip Code showed we had the second highest per capita CHL rate in the State. (League City was number one.)

I don't want to hi-jack the thread, but I have wondered why League City is the leader in per capita CHLs. I guess some place has to be first.agbullet2k1 wrote:Woohoo!!!! League City FTW!!!!Charles L. Cotton wrote:I'll throw this is also, not that it changes the situation with the traffic stop.

Re: disarmed by Friendswood PD
About a year ago, I was walking into the apartment office to pay rent, and the LCPD officer who lives two doors down from me was having an informal conversation with the office girls about how they should get their CHLs. Apparently, one of the residents had become irate a few days before about some repairs he requested, and they had to call the police on him. It's the first time I'd ever seen a police officer actually advocating getting a CHL. He also mentioned the League City is #1 statistic.WildBill wrote:I don't want to hi-jack the thread, but I have wondered why League City is the leader in per capita CHLs. Just a thought...it may have to do with the political and financial makeup of League City. Lots of republicans and lots of wealthy people in the south shore area. It is Ron Paul's district, after all.

Re: disarmed by Friendswood PD
The numbers though might be a little hard to get a handle on, because of League Citys Growth rate. League city has essentially doubled in growth every 10 years since the 40s.. It can't be denied though that there are a whole lotta CHLers here, and for some strange reason the crime rate stays fairly low. Wonder why that would be?agbullet2k1 wrote:Woohoo!!!! Yep...And it is ironic that most of the "day laborers" congregate right across the street from the police station...I've seen it for myself...LarryH wrote:League City is also a sanctuary city . . . .
But then again this issue cannot be the main reason for the ratio of CHL's to non-CHL's is so high...

I'm up for lunch today, if anyone wants to go...
I can guarantee it will be the safest restaurant in Texas while we are there...
