Well, I used some confidential sources to get information on this, so please don't pass this around!

There is going to be a new CHL issued, but it won't be until about Sept. of 2009. DPS has given this new style a name; it will be called "on time."

...I think that they are being VERY optimistic, even with a year to catch up.

Why not just have CHL coded on the driver's license?
I may be wrong, but I believe that's the way the state of Missouri does it.

I understand that renewal dates don't currently coincide, but one would think that issue could be easily resolved, and by having one document it would assure "prompt" disclosure at all law enforcement contacts. Was this ever considered by the legislature?
It's a good idea in theory, but in practice do you want to have your ID photocopied when filling out loan documents so now it's public information. Information that can and probably would make it to insurance companies. Life insurance companies would love this info as they can increase your rates because you have a gun.

Now imagine going to the bank and cashing a check. You need to show ID, now the teller looks at your ID and see that you could be carrying a gun.
That's not what I want to do, because some tard will spout out, What kind of gun do you carry? And everyone around is going to freak out.
