Is this a record?

#1

Post by Starvin »

Today while entering my credit union, I noticed a small piece of paper taped to the window. It was a 30.06 sign that measured 5"x6". The wording was all there in both english and spanish. The letters were small enough that I had to use my bifocals. Apparently this sign has been up for some time, yet it was so small that I have never noticed it before (yes, I carry in there all the time). Immediatly, I asked to speak with the president and was directed to the vice president. Long story short, all signs were to be removed today.

Got to be some kind of record. :tiphat: Wish they could all be that way.

Was there something in your presentation that got the positive response?

I have seen it on a regular sheet of printer paper off of the DPS website but never smaller than that. Not only do I congratulate you on getting it taken down but in actually being able to read it.

That was my first thought when I read this. Obviously they don't want gun owners in there as they put the sign up in the first place. Now they've been alerted and can become legal with thier sign. I hope that doesn't become the case.

We should start a thread of illegal 30.06 postings. It would be interesting to have photos of these for the humor value.

I agree with KC5A V & Big Blue Dodge. If you never mention the wrong signs they will probably never change, BUT if ya do?

It's also possible that a person not working for the bank put the sign up. Anti's are not above doing such tricks.

I was very polite and as well spoken as I could possibly be. During the conversation I explained that as CHL holders, we had been fingerprinted, photographed, FBI background checked as well as trained. Then the best part, what can you say about your other customers? The size of the sign still amazes me. I wish I had a camera at the time! It is my plan to write our local newspaper to publicly thank them for their timley and efficient handling of this matter. Perhaps others will take notice and follow suit.

The smallest I have seen are the signs at Taco Cabana's. They are approx 8.5 x 14 with both english and spanish. I talked to a manager at one close to my house and he told me it was company wide and he could care less if CHLer carried. Since the wording is legal I quit going there.

The wording is legal and I respect your wishes to vote with your money, but the size is not legally binding and you can eat in store there without fear of being arrested. Again, no problem if you choose to support other businesses who don't waffle that line though.
