Waiting for Campus Carry...

#1

Post by TheCytochromeC »

It's not like waiting for Christmas, it's more like waiting for a breath of fresh air. In the world of academia liberal and anti-second amendment sentiment is ubiquitous. Faculty and University officials tout as though allowing LTC holders to defend themselves to, fro and upon campus grounds is irrational despite their weekly bulletins of assault and robbery. In institutions which promote higher education, individuals still seem incapable of differentiating between fact and opinion.

I never thought the day would come when we, supporters of the second amendment, would be allowed to defend ourselves and others on campus. I'm thankful beyond words for this ability and hope that we and future generations set the precedent of a being a responsible firearm owner and carrier.

August 1st, I'm so eager for your arrival.

Who else here is as anxious as me?

A week from Monday. 6 business days. No I can't wait, I hate having to leave my gun at home every day. It also means any errands after work I am either disarmed, or I have to schedule going home to get it first. I am usually on a motorcycle, and don't trust locking it up on there.

Be sure to keep track of who those vocal professors are. That way if, God forbid, anything does happen, as you draw your pistol you can calm their fears by letting them know you won't insult their sensibilities by using it to defend them. :biggrinjester:

It's going to be like the Wally walk all over again except at work.

I honestly never thought this day would come! I took two classes during the summer one term, so I am taking a break during summer two. Will be back at it hard late august. If you don't mind sharing, how does everyone plan to carry? I have an IWB that is semi-comfortable that I'll use until it's cool enough for sweatshirts, and then I'll probably stick to a pancake OWB holster.

IWB alien gear cloak tuck 2.0 on a Magpul Tejas original belt.

Considering throwing an extra mag into the mix.

Maybe my DeSantis inside heat on days I keep the shirt tail out.

I'm going to start looking for signs here in the next 2 weeks.

Hey after a year of non-events (much like the highly feared open carry), maybe your respective schools will follow suit!

It will have to wait until I get back to campus in the second week of August. After that I will carry a matched pair of SP101s in various deeply concealed holsters.

I work at A&M and I'm so glad this is finally happening!

But the lib profs in my department are really amazing to watch. We're having a dept meeting to calm them down.
