I have no inside information, but I have known attorneys and I have known quite a few paralegals. An attorney by nature is planner, and by being a planner they like to cherry pick actions. I suspect the AG was researching and looking at the complaints for ones that he could be relatively assured of winning AND they are likely to appeal their loss so that he can get precedent set. Once that is done it becomes easier for him to go after other, possibly more difficult, cases and win them.

For those who are worried about the slow movement, it's actually very reassuring because if he was moving quickly we would have cause to be worried.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

I do agree with the idea that once a couple of big fish land in hot water, it will encourage other entities to take a closer look at what they're doing.
There is another possibility. Upon being notified by the OAG that a government entity is in violation of the law, that government entity could choose to remove their signs within the fifteen day period the law allows. No trial, no fines, we win. Given the fact that Pasadena is no longer posting 30.06 at gun shows, this is quite plausible.
possibly CPT, possibly but I have little confidence in that about as much as green becoming suddenly not an opionated redneck buttcover

The illegally posted Collin county administrative office building in McKinney took their 30.06 sign down after complaints. They weren't real happy about it either :txflag:

I think we should all settle down a little and allow this to play out. The law is new and the AG's office had to develop procedures to implement the enforcement. Many of us who have submitted complaints have seen signs voluntarily removed (eg Moneygram Park in Dallas). On others, we have been copied on letters from the AG to the municipality asking for additional information. I feel certain that they will demand the signs be removed in most all of these cases. This is a marathon, not a sprint. I get more worked up during the legislative sessions when the short legislative sessions set sometimes severe time constraints. The AG is making forward progress. Let's support the AG and let the enforcement actions run to their logical completion.

No. We want what we want and we want it now!!

Actually, I agree also. It's not as if he only has the new gun laws to deal with.

I'd prefer to have the law read that they lose qualified immunity and can be sued by individuals.

A few dozen individual lawsuits against elected officials, personally, would help things along.

And Plaintiff able to recover $25,000 + court costs and attorneys fees for a first violation, $50,000 for subsequent violations.

A Dallas Morning News blog has update from AG's office. Article says gun rights advocates press Paxton to act and is preparing violation notices to be sent out this week: :anamatedbanana

AG’s office spokeswoman Cynthia Meyer said the timeline has been slowed by the office first having to deal with separate requests for often time-consuming legal opinions on the topic. And each complaint, she said, must be thoroughly vetted.

But some pending cases could soon be closed out, if the office has verified that the “no guns” signs have come down, she said. For entities that resist, she said, the office is “preparing violation notices this week which will include penalties and enforcement action.”

“Our responsibility is to guarantee that Texans’ Second Amendment rights are not being infringed upon by uncooperative governments, and we are vigilantly pursuing violators,” Meyer said.

Sounds very encouraging, and that was a pretty good article overall. I like how they used the Dallas Zoo as their picture. Way to put them squarely in the spotlight.
I prefer dangerous freedom to safety in chains.

Let's go Brandon.

Exceptions to that rule can include schools, courthouses, hospitals and a few other public areas.
Hospitals can still be excluded? How do I keep missing this one? Are we talking about County hospitals or hospitals owned entirely or in part by universities? Or is this article just wrong?
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.
