Correction:
The sanctuary of St. Bernadette Catholic Church is posted 30.07 only. Ancillary buildings, including one attached to the sanctuary, are posted both 30.06 and 30.07.

How many are aware of Patron Saint Gabriel Possenti who is Vatican designated as Patron Saint of Handgunners?

Didn't know that.

From what I understand.....The property is owned by the diocese. Parishes have to confer to the diocese for approval with new buildings, etc. The parish may pay 100% for the project through donations but the actual ownership is with diocese.

Make your displeasure known in a polite manner.

30.06 is unacceptable.

Churches are targets, especially given our war with radical Islam.

Take TAM up on his offer and let the church powers that be know they're losing customers.

I plan to send them notice to remove me from the parish roster. I have not yet decided how to do that.

I read where one of the current POTUS' shills, Father (?) Michael Pfleger from Chicago, was a planted cheerleader at the current POTUS' anti-gun Town Hall charade last week. IIRC, Pfleger was also an avid supporter of the current POTUS during the past two elections.

Is the new Pope/Vatican anti-gun and/or are they just pro-current POTUS? FWIW, we love the Catholicism of the "BLUE BLOODS", so don't start.

Honestly I don't know; I have me Bishops and Priests that were ' farm ' raised! I'm a Vatican 2 Catholic, and I am learning that the Church is like the government; you have far left, far right and in the middle! :boxing

I'm glad I belong to an independent, local, bible church with no "hierarchy" from a national organization run by whimps. If I saw a sign at the entrance of my church, my service and my tithes would be finding a new home. I'm not going to church unarmed. If every church posted, I would worship at home. It's the 21st century. :tiphat:

the new Pope is very socialist, so also seem to remember him saying something anti-gun not long after taking office. (if that's the right wording)

I seriously doubt that Pope Francis is providing any direct input into the 30.06/30.07 issues in Texas. All bishops are the autonomous head of their diocese, just as Francis is head of the Diocese of Rome. The pope is the head of the Catholic church in that he has final decision powers in matters of faith, morals, and dogma. In addition he has authority to appoint or remove bishops from dioceses world-wide.

Any decisions on our ability to carry in churches rests solely on the local ordinaries, the bishops.

Still no signs in San Angelo but the bulletin yesterday commented about the "macho new open carry law" and it is expected signs will be posted like they were when concealed carry was passed.

I'd pitch this to them, putting it in the bulletin was effective notice....so not necessary to put up ugly signs.
