It's at Amon Carter stadium in Fort Worth
I think the answer is no, but a quick clarification would be appreciated.

No, you can not carry.

Under prohibited:

46.035 TPC
A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intentionally,
knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter
H, Chapter 411, Government Code, regardless of whether the handgun is
concealed, on or about the license holder’s person:

(2) on the premises where a high school, collegiate, or professional sporting
event or interscholastic event is taking place, unless the license holder is a
participant in the event and a handgun is used in the event.
And, note that after Aug 1st, 2016, the campus carry law amended TPC 46.035 such that collegiate sporting events must be posted 30.06 to be restricted.

I questioned this for a moment, but I went back and read the final version of SB 11 and it seems you are correct.

This has lead me to a new question...

With narrow exceptions, property owned or leased by a government can't be posted as 30.06. This includes the State Fair of Texas. TX/OU is played at The Cotton Bowl on the fairgrounds. Can they not post 30.06 next year and/or restrict CHL?

The way I interpret it is they can post the Cotton Bowl 30.06/7 since it is an exception otherwise prohibited in 46.035. Kind of like the Dallas Zoo saying they are an Amusement Park, except that the TX/OU game really is a Collegiate sporting event...

Aha! In the back of my feeble mind I had a dim recollection of some sort of change in the law from last session, which is why I posted the question. thanks for the reminder.

Anyway, enjoyed the game, even though AF lost to a bunch of liberals from CA. I went with my daughter and her SO, who had turned down a presidential appointment to the AFA and went to Berkley instead. :banghead: So he cheered for Cal while his (retired AF) Dad and I cheered for AF.
There were so many soldiers and Special Forces guys there I wasn't concerned about security.
It was fun. Also cold.
