Heads up: Laurel Land Cemetery on Crowley Rd. Fort Worth
From a FB post:
"People visiting their loved ones are being robbed at gun point @ Laurel Land, there have been several incidents already starting a few days ago. Pretty sad to rob grieving people. If you have any info on this I hope you contact the police & if you are visiting there be ready to have a gun pointed in your face & vehicle stolen, bring your guns with you. "

I have carried to the last three funerals I have been to in the years since getting my CHL. It can get a little tricky with all the hugging going on.

Here's a tip for hugging: Assuming you're carrying on your strong side, keep your strong arm low. It makes them go high and hug above your beltline.txglock21 wrote:I have carried to the last three funerals I have been to in the years since getting my CHL. Being the anti social, curmudgeon I am, I detest hugs and kisses from anyone that isn't family.
I especially detest the "bro hugs" which remind of convict culture (shudder) that males now seem to need, instead of a handshake.
Please, no "bro hugs", shudder...

Yeah... that area is experiencing some "diversity" here lately.

With no disrespect intended, I'm almost relieved to see this thread was about your basic everyday mayhem and armed robbery.
I saw "heads up," and thinking about recent flooding immediately wondered about the relative buoyancy of craniums in deluge-sodden greens.
In fact, I was so skittish about the heads I would have jumped out of my skin if anyone had yelled "FORE!"
Or "boo."

May work well for an average height person, but at 6'03" you try forcing someone who is 5'02" to hug you anywhere besides your beltline.

On the other side of the coin, at 5'04", I don't have a problem!kd5yig wrote:Pawpaw wrote: Here's a tip for hugging: Assuming you're carrying on your strong side, keep your strong arm low. It makes them go high and hug above your beltline.

Well, I'm 6' and it seems most of the women who hug me are short. I just bend at the waist (still going low with my strong arm) and they will invariably put their arm around either my shoulder or neck.kd5yig wrote:Pawpaw wrote: Here's a tip for hugging: Assuming you're carrying on your strong side, keep your strong arm low. Earthman Resthaven on I45 in Houston has the same issue. Signs are posted to keep your cars locked while you're there. I am a former funeral director and I carried everyday. I used a belly band and carried a G26 or G30. It worked well with all the hugging and kissing that goes with the job.
