Re: LTC licenses now being issued
I plan to switch to OWB with a concealing garment. OC has no particular appeal for me other than being able to carry OWB and worry less about my gun being occasionally visible.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!

The motorcycle folks are definitely big winners on the OC front.

I really don't understand why people with Chl's want to open carry? The only thing it tends to prove is that there really are gun nuts out there and the law abiding citizens such as myself seems to get thrown in with the rest!
Please tell me who REALLY needs to know you have a firearm? ?
Would you people PLEASE tone it down! !!!
Walking around with an open firearm does not look cute nor will it PROTECT any better than concealed.
Law enforcement, Military, and Armed officers are the only people who need to have open firearms.
OPEN CARRY WILL NEVER MAKE YOU OR ANYONE AROUND YOU FEEL MORE SAFE OR SECURE! .... AND that's a fact.
In August, I spent a week in New Mexico (which is an open carry state) and didn't see one person open carrying.

I live in NM. I have rarely seen anyone open carry. Unfortunately , the ones I have seen, are the ones you don't want open carrying

The "before time" was good.Taypo wrote:Abraham wrote:"Before I got here your discussion seemed to be very bland."

No yelling, being called a gun nut (whatever that is) and I learned a lot which helps me in my daily life as a responsible citizen.
I doubt the "after time" will be as helpful or informative. I don't learn anything from being yelled at.
And "spirited discussions" are often just a euphemism for opinion-driven arguments with the loudest voice trying to dominate any others who disagree.
I prefer the "before time" - can we go back to that?

MG,
You stated: "I live in NM. I have rarely seen anyone open carry. Unfortunately, the ones I have seen, are the ones you don't want open carrying"
On what do you base your criteria for that judgement?
Perhaps others would look at you and have their doubts about you based on your appearance or mine or anyone's.
Many folks immediately base their judgement on character because someone's wearing a suit, tie and his shoes are polished. Darned yuppee scum. Corporate dweeb. Money grubbing hack who probably hasn't worked a day in his life of ease. Not appreciating this guy was raised on a ranch and broke horses for side money and built fence.
Or, he's tatted up and dressed like a gang banging thug, then you see the back of his jacket and it says something along the lines of Brothers In Christ and he's passing flyers to attend his Methodist/Lutheran/Presbyterian, Church of the Immaculate Conception/ or Synagogue.
What's that's old cliche?
You can't tell a book by it's cover.
And the other one: Who are you to judge, or me or anyone?

Passing judgement aside, the point is that OC is not widely done even when and where it's where legal.Abraham wrote:MG,
