More on Cover Garments

I read a lot on these forums regarding the Texas heat and cover clothing. A popular fad among packers is the "hawaiian shirt". They are comfortable, and some really look.

How many of you have read the phrase regarding fanny packs - "They SCREAM gun!"

Well, I have never had any piece of clothing or accessory scream before, but I can't help but look for bulges behind every pink or purple orchid hawaiian shirt.

My favorite cover shirts are Colombia fishing shirts. They are vented, are designed to draw moisture away from the body. Put on a tank tee, and your favorite holster, and carry away. You look the part of a true fisherman. All you need are the "raccoon eyes" from wearing your shades while fishing the flats.

Great excuse to hit the sporting goods stores too. Gimme a gift certificate anytime!

The discussion on Hawaiian shirts brings up memories of a long time ago, in a country far, far away. Every time you saw a flowered shirt, you knew it concealed a Walther PPK. Everyone else was wearing basic green.

I agree that the fishing shirts are great for this area. They work well and blend in nicely.

I usually wear an IWB holster in my shorts at 4-5 o clock (almost an SOB, but its FBI cant) and a t shirt. Prints a BIT, not enough to scream gun. Its hot.

Maybe we should design a cover garments with built in random bulges. Then only your wife would know for sure. Sounds like a good line for a hair color add. Wait! I'm showing my age again.

It seems that the only people that certain garments "scream" gun to are people that are looking for a concealed gun. The average she..person doesn't have a clue.

I know relatively few people that carry a gun. I know many more that wear that smae types of garments simply because they are practical or comfortable.

The fishing shirts are a great idea.

The thing is that the Hawiian shirt, fishing vest, fanny pack only scream gun to people "in the know". Jane Doe and John Q have no clue.

Personally, I think the worst is the "tactical man purse". Especially if the guy carrying it is wearing a mullet and a dale earnhardt t-shirt.

Negative Ghost Rider the pattern is full. Those Columbia fishing shirts are a dead give-aways. Solid color. Solid colors show every bulge. Light colors worst of all and Columbia shirts are all light colors.

That's the beauty of Hawaiian shirts... the worse the shirt the better they conceal. I mean Velvet Elvis works great.

I own several Colombia fishing shirts in a cross-hatch pattern. They all are not solid. Even under my solids, I am bulge free - well almost.

Not sure if fishin shirts fall under tax-free.

I actually got this really cool "Spiderman" silk material like shirt...Its real loose, and is worn normally untucked...

To me the shirt screams gang-banger...I may be wrong, but thats just what I have seen when I see guys wearing similar shirts...

Like I said its a cool shirt with lots of neat colors and is really nice to wear over a tighter t-shirt that gives you a layered effect...

I think concealing with that shirt is almost better than the thicker (sometimes) cotton or heavier thread shirts...Which I have two Hawaiian shirts of that type which some of you have seen me in...

I guess what needs to happen is to go to a happy middle ground between the two styles...

This weekend may afford some good deals for the "tax free weekend"...

But guys don't really shop...We buy...

I also agree that the only people who might get an idea about the "standard" trend in concealed carry fashion would be those who actually carry...And that may not be such a bad thing, in general...

And I do look for that myself...And I am usually correct in those assumptions...

"Random Bulges"???

"Just for Men"???

You may garner more attention than what its worth...

And that leads to alllll sorts of other problems I figure...
