Not new to CHL, I had to turn in my Indiana permit because I moved to Texas. I waited till I just got my Texas CHL in the mail yesterday to send my Indiana permit back. I know the laws in Indiana. What are some things that get people in trouble down here? I usually carry a full size 1911 or a G26.

Too bad you have to turn in the IN license.

Before I moved here, I got my Texas license. After I moved here, I still kept my OH license.

Welcome to Texas!

Your Texas instructor didn't either give you or tell you how to get a copy of theTexas Chl Laws and Selected Statutes?

Click on the link and download the pdf file.

eta. Boneheaded mistakes, such as carry in prohibited places seem to be the biggest cause of trouble.

Welcome! :tiphat:

:iagree:

Texas laws are required to be covered in the class. Even the short one.

Yes, I am aware of that. I am an instructor. I always give my students the name and place to download the latest CHL8 so they can look stuff up themselves.

The class is half as long but I think the reference is still called CHL-16. :biggrinjester:
