First Trike Trip Carrying

#1

Post by mlsa »

I've had my CHL for two weeks now and took my yearly motorcycle trip this past weekend. I always ride to the hill country for 4 days in April. I packed everything up and hooked up my camper. I was excited because this was the first time I could actually carry all day long. I wore a short sleeve denim shirt over a T-shirt and the tail covered my gun perfectly. I'm using a Blackhawk Serpa holster and was worried it might not be easy to cover but was no problem at all. I love that holster.

On the trike the wind kept blowing my shirt tail up so I sort of tucked it up under the holster and it kept it covered completely...spent 4 days riding...went to Wally World, Lucenbach (with Willie and the boys), rode the three twisted sisters, shopped in some of the small towns along the way, and camped. Actually forgot at times I was carrying. Being around lots of people gave me some comfort that I could carry concealed and not have to worry about it.

Congrats on a successful trip. I try to make that run at least once a year.

As a note, I have had no problems with my shirt tail staying down since i added a backrest to my seat. Not sure why it helps but it does.

Great news David! I've not had any issues carrying IWB just under a tshirt as the pillion seat (above and behind the Mustang saddle) keeps the shirt tail from blowing up. Headed out for Bid Bend and Northern New Mexico in two weeks so need to study up on any differences between their rules for carrying there. Should be essentially the same but need to find out for sure.
Safe travels.....
