1st Time Out w/CCW
CHL arrived in the mailbox Saturday. Carried handgun (concealed along with CHL) while taking my dog for a walk in the neighborhood after dark that evening. Live in a nice neighborhood & Sage is a Doberman, lol. Anyway, wanted to get "the feel", and was a comfort. However, this afternoon wife & I drove up to Austin for birthday dinner at Papadeaux's for daughter's 28th. Took my Walther PPS in right pocket of my Black 5:11 Shorts, and short-sleeve cotton casual shirt not tucked. Wife never noticed, nor did anybody else at the restaurant.
Next table over, two of APD's finest. I was not the least bit bothered.

Nicely done.
Nice CCW choice too ... I love my PPS, perfect IWB carry gun.
Actually shot my PPS for first time in an IDPA match last weekend (usually shoot larger M&P) and did fairly well with it considering I was handicapped by both the 7+1 mag capacity and short barrel. If you haven't tried IDPA, you should .... http://www.texastactical.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; shoots just down the road from you at Cedar Ridge Range near Bulverde. Great way to improve your shooting skills and have a lot of fun.

Appreciate the replies.
Definitely, plan to spend some time Cedar Ridge, which is about a 10 min drive. BTW, been to any SATX Indoor Ranges? Texas Thunder Range, on Bandera, looks interesting, at least from the website. Oops, just now read you live in Cedar Park.

What kind of pocket holster do you use? My PPS is going to be my EDC, right now I use a High Noon IWB holster for it, but since I have and like the 5.11 shorts I've thought about pocket carry.Soldiernurse wrote:CHL arrived in the mailbox Saturday. Try Mika pocket holsters ... have one for my PPS (also works for my baby Glock), one for a J-frame revolver, and one for a Ruger LCP. Best pocket holsters available.outwardhound wrote:What kind of pocket holster do you use? Glad to have you in the club.

Be sure and do the Wally Walk tour. An absolute must.
Gun control is like stopping drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to drive.
