...and always carry guns w/o safeties

#36

Post by j1132s »

When I first got my CHL, I experimented and carried many of my guns. Definitely I noticed that the polymer ones are more comfortable. Now I pretty much just pocket carry.

I don't always carry, but when I do, I always carry pistols w/o external safeties. I don't want to mess w/ the safety (i.e. forgetting to take the thing off) when I need to use the gun.

Bump this back to the top! This thread dates back to last year, what are you guys carrying now? Lumberjack, did the .380 work out? ect. I am about 30 days out from carry time and would welcome more input on how and what is working for carry. I have a Firestorm .380 and a pocket holster. I also have a .40 Baby Eagle compact that I'd like to carry but it's hot in Texas and hard to carry a heavy weapon in shorts. I have a Fobus paddle holster for the Deagle coming. I love my XD-45 but I am not sure that thing can be concelled :)
I guess also how you dress to cover your firearms would be good info as well?

thanks, jim

I alternate between my Glock 29 10mm and my Springfield Champion 45.
Since it's gotten hotter lately I've been leaning heavily on the 29 since it's less likely to rust ;-)

I guess mine actually fits into several of the categories. I carry a Beretta PX4, DA/SA semi-auto polymer frame.

Good bump Diode. Not only for any changes but also for the new guys & gals. At the time this started I had a Kimber Compac. as my only primary. Now have 2. Kimber pro & Eclipse pro ll. Springfield 1911-A1 for a while. Transitions do take place. Any other trades out there. HV you probably can't list all yours.

A year ago it was almost exclusively a DAO revolver. That is still part of the rotation, but a 1911 is most common now.

SA XD-9 Service 4" + KT's P-32

I always have the .32 as it's a 'go everywhere' little gun.
