Jumping Frog wrote:One issue I wonder about with the Berreta Nano is how high the bore axis is above the gripping hand. Compare these other subcompact 9mm from Sig, Ruger, and Kimber and see how much lower the bore axis is.

The higher the bore axis, the more the muzzle flip when shooting.
Recoil is not bad because of the weight. It weighs a LOT more than the kel-tec P3AT or the Ruger LCP. The P3AT will hurt my wrist for a week after shooting 50 shots or more. The Nano has more recoil than a Glock 26 but a lot less recoil than the P3AT. It doesn't hurt my wrist. The P3AT weighs 8.3 oz and the Nano weighs 20 oz. The Nano weighs 2 and 1/2 times more than the P3AT.

Pocket pistols have a tendency to want to jump out of your hand & all have lots of muzzle flip. For whatever reason, I found the nano much easier to control vs other single stack pocket pistols. The Glock was the easiest of all the pocket pistols to shoot. But the Glock is a double stack, and I was weighing more heavily toward concealability.

The kick and flip was a big factor in our buying the nano. She thought it was a lot less and more enjoyable to shoot. She actually complained about the flop on my ruger saying it hurt her wrists. We have both shot the compact glock9 as well and while it's ok, it's heavier and just not our favorite choice.

I have now gone through about 1500 rounds with my NANO and have yet to encounter an issue. I only shoot 115g FMJ at the range. I stop in the range and shoot every week with it.
