New CHL here

#1

Post by txcharvel »

Just wanted to say hello. I've been lurking on here for several weeks gleaning all kinds of good information. Sent my application, took class, and did fingerprints in February, got my CHL in April. I'm to the point now where I'm uncomfortable if I don't have my weapon with me.

Had a date with my lovely wife last night (kids at home) and wanted to see if I could get through the night without her knowing I was carrying...she had no idea I had my Taurus TCP in my right front pocket all night. The only time I thought she might be on to me was when I didn't want a drink at dinner, didn't even want to taste her glass of wine. Won't do it again, just wanted to see if she would notice as she was worried about other people noticing.

Thanks for all the good info and advice :cheers2:

On behalf of my fellow forum members, let me extend a warm welcome to you sir.

Where are you located?

Do you have other guns beside the TCP?

Very nice  I sold my '83 Charvel and '86 Jackson a few years ago. Still have my '86 Charvel plus a few others ;-)

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in Austin...As far as other guns...my other carry gun is a Bersa Thunder Plus. I also have a Sig Mosquito and Remington 1100 12ga. I do love dove season :hurry:

Thanks for adding your location to your profile. It will show up each time you post.

What makes it a Bersa Thunder PLUS? Is it still a .380, but maybe an extended capacity mag?

Yep, double stack magazine. 15+1, the standard is 7+1. Essentially the same size as the original, just a thicker grip. Very sweet little pistol. Very comfortable in a Galco Tuck N Go.

Congratulations on being married long enough that a gun in your pocket doesn't get noticed on date night !
