Howdy,

well, I just got my TX CHL. I came to this site, and I'm amazed at the amount of Information that is available here. I'm going to be carrying a 1911. Keeping it old school. Hopefully someone can give me some advice on holsters because I still don't have one.

One thing you'll find is that with a 1911 of any size, everybody who makes holsters makes more than one model to fit 1911 pistols.

There seems to be an abundance of holster manufacturers in Texas- White Hat http://www.whitehatholsters.com, El Paso Saddlery, http://www.epsaddlery.com/default.aspx, DM Bullard Leathery http://www.dmbullardleather.com/1429711.html, Bear Creek Holsters http://www.bearcreekholsters.com. I'm on the look-out for a holster myself and I think it's great that we have so many local choices. Good luck...

I'm also willing to toss in another local manufacturer: http://www.comp-tac.com/ My favorite two holsters are the C-Tac and M-Tac. I use the C-Tac on a regular basis for my Glock 17. They are a little pricey, but the holsters are very customizable with regards to position on the waistband.

Thanks for the advise! I ordered a couple of different holsters from different manufacturers. I can't wait to get them!

Welcome to the forum.

Thankfully, holsters have not seen price increases like guns and ammo have.
