So what strategies can 2A-loving attorneys take to deal with court appearances?

I agree. If someone knows me well enough to hug me, it's not a problem.

Disarm before going into the courtroom.

Change the law in 2013 so it's no longer unalwful. :thumbs2:

Another advantage from moving CHL's from TPC §46.15(b) to 46.15(a). :thumbs2: :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

I know it's OT but I hadn't heard this. Link(s) to more info?
Hello. My name is Red and I used to carry a .45. Now I carry a 9mm and it's getting easier to admit every day.

It's a bill I've written for the 2013 Texas Legislative Session. It's step one of a two step plan to achieve campus-carry, but it has far more impact outside of the campus arena.

Jumping Frog wrote:I am careful with how I hug. Since it is on my right hip, I will hug with my left arm going high at the shoulder level and my right arm going low at the waist level. That always ends up with their arm above my right arm, and well away from my firearm. So I've never had anyone feel it and start asking questions.
This works like a champ. I completely understand the responses of, "If they are hugging me, they know me well enough to know what's on my belt" but in my case, I carried for a long time with only my wife knowing. That left a lot of family/extended family in the dark about any foreign objects on my hip. Of course, my mother in law eventually found out... and shortly after that, it became part of the family folklore and tribal knowledge :smilelol5:

I went to a Walk-In Medical Office yesterday where I was felt up, twisted, turned, poked and patted first by the Doctor, then by the X-ray Tech. No jollies therein....

No one said anything about the SA Compact LW 1911 that was on my hip, cocked and locked, during the entire 3 hour ordeal. Did I mention that I'm in Montana, a Gold Star OC state?

Oh,I have a sprained knee from constantly grinding gears and setting the parking brake in 'ol 538, our state truck....in case anyone was wonderin'.

The moral of this story is that no one knows and no one cares UNLESS you somehow draw attention to yourself and/or otherwise don't look like you know what you're doing.

You should get a copy of that X-ray and frame it!
