Intro from a new member

#1

Post by JRS »

Hey everyone, hope this is the right spot.

I'm James, a Canadian transplant to Texas, living in Austin now (started off in Dallas). Was into knives and lights etc etc but couldn't wait to get into firearms. Was one of the first things I did 2-3 years ago when I moved here. I'm mostly a glock guy, followed by 1911's. I'm on a few other forums but this seems like a good fit for me.

I shoot at Eagle Peak. I'm signed up for a CHL course this coming Thursday. Main carry will be a chopped G23 that now takes G27 mags, but looking closely at Kimber Solos for summer flip flop carry.

Just wanted to say "hey" :txflag:

although I'm sure the mods will move this, Welcome to the Forum! I'm probably not the only one thinking this, but I think you should post some pics of the cut down glock...
about 65 days to plastic...
Carry guns:
Springfield V-10 3.5" 1911(thanks again, Texasvet)
Glock 26
Springfield XD40 4"
Llama 1911 (hey, don't knock it. Never had a SINGLE reliability problem with it. Over 1000 rounds through it.)
(lots of long guns, and a few other pistols for other use)

Thanks guys for the welcome.

Will do on the pics, although I'll have to borrow a cam from someone. The sony AND the cellphone pooped out. I just flattened the backstrap hump using the candle method, so I'll have to figure out soon how I want to refinish it. Kind of leaning towards bedliner over stippling. I'm a function over form kind of guy.
