Is a double mag pouch necessary for IDPA or can you get away with using a single mag pouch?
Thanks.

You can "get by" with using one, until that time that, due to a gun jam, etc., you find yourself reaching for that other magazine.

I carry a Glock 19, so I'm not familiar with a "gun jam, etc."DMG wrote:You can "get by" with using one, until that time that, due to a gun jam, etc., you find yourself reaching for that other magazine.
Just kidding! I know what that is, just never had one before. I'll go ahead and go with the double though, as the law of averages is against me.

You really need 2 mags on your belt...
I use 2 single mag carriers so I can position them exactly where I want regardless of the belt loop arrangement of my pants.

Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

Man, after shooting this weekend... I'd love to carry 6 mag pouches while shooting CDP...

Re: Single or Double Mag Pouch for IDPA?
I carry two in a double mag pouch and two in my back pocket and use an xd9 sc.
Since we can use 11 rounds in the first magazine I carry my long ones in my back pocket since I only need access to them when loading and making ready. (10 in mag and 1 in chamber) and then my short ones are on my belt ready to go.
