Can anyone recommend a gun club in or near Tyler that has organized pistol competition?

Not all too near, but Terrell Rifle and Pistol Club wouldn't be too bad a drive.

Bullseye and IDPA competitons monthly.

Tyler Practical Shooters

Monthly matches-- on HW 31 outside of Chandler at the river.

The East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club off I20 Longview also has a monthly match. Its not an official IDPA match, but is run the same way. THey call them ACtion Pistol matches I believe.

Good folks-- fun matches. :thumbs2: I shot with them both for a few years before we moved. I got to visit with some of the folks at the State match.

I've been shooting with the Tyler Practical Shooters the last few months -good folks. I got over to the Longview match once and they have a great range.

BTW, you don't actually have to be a member of IDPA to come shoot with the Tyler folks -they let you shoot a couple matches with em before you must join IDPA. Its $15 to shoot and they hold the match on the second Saturday of each month. Also, you don't have to join the range off 31 to come shoot the IDPA matches. Just follow the instructions in the link and come out and have fun :hurry:

There was a IPSC/IDPC/Practical school up there a few years ago. Somewhere around Corsicana to Tyler.

I wanted to attend a 3-5 day class there but lost the info. Anyone know where I might mean?

Silly, but googling for it has not been working.

Thanks.

Range/class sounds like http://www.tdsa.net in Ferris, TX.

Thanks. Interesting people but that is close into Dallas.

The place I am thinking of was (past?) Corsicana way, towards Tyler, near the road I cut over from Waco on TX 31 (?) to pick up I-20 East to north Louisiana and the east coast. I really feel silly having forgotten/lost the reference. (I have never been there, but remember locating it on my usually route through there.)

The class was competition focused (or at least one of them was) for IPSC/IDPA. I just thought that would be fun and useful. I like those but don't have a regular shoot near me.
