Get comfy. The wait is the worst. When are you getting your fingerprints taken?

We're on almost the same timeline then.
I took class and applied online on 9/23. Emailed in CHL-100 on 9/29.
Submitted fingerprints on 10/3.
Based on others here on the site, it could literally be anywhere from a couple days up to another month before the license is processed. No rhyme or reason.

Nice! Well feel free to keep updating I this thread! I called last week and the only information they gave me was that they had received documents (chl 100) on October 1st which I already knew.

I called on Monday the 12th and they indicated that they got the fingerprints on Sunday the 11th. I thought that was odd that they got them on a Sunday and that it took 8 days for them to get the fingerprints which are supposed to be automatically filed into the state database when they are taken. Based on some of the things that people say on this forum, I think that the person on the phone will pretty much always tell you that whatever status your application is in that it just got into that status today or yesterday. Then they usually tell you to expect it to take pretty much the total allotted time of 60 days.

Any word? Website still hasn't changed for me. I know they have already started my bg check, but that should be literally instant. I have almost no criminal history; no arrests (luckily), I have had my fair share of tickets but nothing violent and only class C tickets. Plus I've bought 3 guns this year and all three I was out of the store within 30 minutes (mind you some browsing time).

A CHL background check is much more thorough than a NICS check. The following is what I saw in another thread on here. I assume it to be true.
"DPS sends an employee into each county where you have lived for the last 5 years (5 I believe) to conduct an in person background. They check the county and district criminal clerk and District civil clerk. The tax assessor is also queried"

I called yesterday. Still waiting on background check. I'll call again Wednesday. I bought a new pistol and a Colt M4 two weeks ago and was out the door in 15 minutes!

Ahh good information. This makes much more sense! I guess also explains why I had to list all of the places I've lived in the last 5 years!

Well I think me and you should be getting ours around the same time! Nice purchase, can't go wrong with colt!
