Hi, Nano-Gal,
It is great that you are now a card carrying member of polite society here in the Spring area. Welcome to the fraternity/sorority. In case you are not already aware of them, there are some great -- and reasonably priced -- opportunities nearby for skill development training.
Conroe Shooting Academy offers some excellent opportunities for dynamic shooting training, including drawing from a holster, engaging multiple targets, moving while shooting, low-light classes, shotgun and carbine classes and competitive opportunities, at extremely reasonable rates. Two to three hour classes are $30, I believe. This organization operates at the Gun Emporium / Conroe Shooting Center range off of FM 2854.
My wife Tonya (DividedAttention on this board) also acts as facilitator for a ladies program at the personal protection training academy we attend. This program includes class/discussion/dry fire sessions and live-fire sessions monthly. The class/discussion/dry fire sessions are hosted in Spring just south of Rayford Road near I-45 -- essentially across the street from or "behind" the La Quinta. Live fire practices are held at a private range (they have used one east of Tamina/I-45 as well as a different one out near Willis). There is a monthly charge -- I think it is $25 -- to be part of this program and there are additional range fees for the live fire exercises. To date this is fairly small group, and I know they'd be delighted to have you. If you are interested in more info, please PM me.
