8/24/2014 - CHL class
8/30/2014 - Applied online for CHL and submitted forms
9/4/2014 - Fingerprints
9/13 or 9/14 - Status Change
9/18/2014 - Plastic in hand

Two weeks from last item submitted.

Everything is finally in the mail. Now my wait depends on the efficiency of two government agencies.

Can anyone suggest a good book?

Here's my timeline for a new application:
Application submitted on 9/3
Fingerprinting on 9/5
CHL Course on 9/6
Docs uploaded on 9/7
Status Change........

Is that problem I read about the status not showing on the DPS website still a thing? It must be, because the only option i have is to apply to be an instructor.

DPS confirmed my application was received on 8/28 and the status change occurred around 4 days later and I had plastic 5 days after that with a holiday weekend. Until the status change option appeared, it only gave me an option for CHL Instructor application. In other words, everything looks like it should for you, based on my trek through the system last week.

Course taken... August 24
Application submitted... September 5
Fingerprints . .. Sept 8
Received email that I need proof of citizenship because of being born on Navy base in Italy... Sept 9
Resubmitted only birth docs I have... Sept 9.
Now I wait.

Looks like I could end up in here well after you guys depart. Send Chocolate please.

Submitted And Confirmed Receipt, Sent To Processing.
9/16/14 Status Change Address/Info Now Available

8/23/14 - chl class
8/26/14 - fingerprints & mailed documents
9/10/14 - still waiting for status change
9/10/14 - called to check on everything, was told everything was finished today just waiting on printing and mailing.
9/11/14 - status changed
9/15/14 - plastic in hand

9/2/14 - Called to confirm receipt of App was told all Received/In process, was also given 2-3wk Tops Timeline to my surprise.
9/11/14 - Logged On to DPS Site / Status Changed
9/12/14 - Plastic Received.....off to see Wally

EVERY 5 MINS

Wife and I both:
Submitted apps on line. 8/25/14
Took class and fingerprinted 8/31/14
Submitted paperwork on line 8/31/14
We both received our licenses in mail 9/11/14.

That's fast considering it entailed the Labor day weekend.
