Email sent on Monday the 11th of November

#1

Post by Blake »

Hey guys, hope everyone is well. I emailed in all my documents on Monday, the 11th of November. Shortly after I received an email saying

"Hello,

The Texas Department of Public Safety - Regulatory Services Division received your request for assistance and we look forward to serving you. Your patience is appreciated while we research and follow up on your specific needs. Please allow sufficient time for a complete response.

Visit us online at http://www.dps.texas.gov/RSD" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for answers to frequently asked questions, downloadable forms, application status updates or to email additional questions. You will find program specific information under the Services link at the top of the home page."

I haven't received any other emails and my status still reads "Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."

So I guess everything is going according to plan? lol. I know some people have received plastic w/o their status changing, but I still can't help but feel anxious.

Oh wow, you're WAY too early! no exaggerating, you won't see a status change for weeks. DPS is very back logged & extremely behind on everything right now.

Patience is key. You won't see a status change for at least a month. I predict longer than a month because the October apps are barely getting our first status changes. I sent my documents via online on Oct. 2, and I got my first status change last thursday. Some people who submitted their apps on Oct. 5 are either getting their first update or are still waiting for an update.

Thanks everyone. I figured this was pretty normal. I just received another email saying

"We have received the documents attached to your email. This information will be forwarded to a CHL Specialist for review and processing. For more information on CHL status changes and updates visit http://www.DPS.Texas.gov" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or go to the Status Check link. Please allow staff sufficient time to continue processing these documents."

Looks like the ball is rolling now.

:iagree: it was 50 days until I got my first update, then I had my plastic in hand 6 days after that. Be patient!

Interesting.

I got the same "...received...forwarded to CHL specialist" email, also on the 18th, except I submitted mine on Nov 7th.

Maybe they've got one person going through every couple weeks 'forwarding' and cleaning out that inbox.

I submitted mine on the 15th and got the "forwarded to CHL specialist" message on the 18th. Sounds like you may be right and they cleaned out that inbox on the 18th.
