I just thought I'd join the waiting room with everyone.

I really appreciate this forum; I've been reading it now for a couple of months and can say it is an extremely valuable resource for everyone participating in the CHL program. That being said, in addition to memorizing my DL, checking my status often, and preparing myself to carry, I find myself reading this forum on a daily bases...

Here's my timeline so far:

1/6/2013 - Online Application
1/14/2013 - Fingerprints
1/24/2013 - CHL Class / Range
1/25/2013 - Mailed all Documentation to DPS (Overnight)
1/28/2013 - Documentation recieved by DPS
Present - Currently waiting for first status change.

Yup -- I have a Galco Doubletime OWB/IWB for a Glock 26 that I've been wearing around the house. It conceals it nicely, but it depends on my clothing too.

I also have a Galco ankle hoster in the mail too. My thought is it might work better with my casual business attire, but we'll see.

I'm also thinking about getting involved with some IDPA matches too--that might really pass the time!!!

Got my first status change today. Status now shows everything received and background under review!!!

I've got a squeaky clean record, so I'm hoping it moves through quickly!!!

Just changed from "Background Under Review" to "Background Check Completed" and "Manufacturing Pending"!!! It won't be long now!!!

My feeling is everything moves pretty quickly from here.

You should have a "mailed" by Saturday or Monday with plastic by next weekend.

This is moving fast now!!! Changed to Manufacturing this morning...

I guess the delivery of my CHL will beat the delivery of my Crossbreed Holster... :) I'm not complaining though...

Updated to "Mailed" this morning--Sunday 2/24/2013...

I'm hoping it actually mailed on Saturday giving me a chance to have it in hand by mid-week!!!

Now to figure out how to spend my time instead of checking the DPS website. One thing for sure, I'll never forget my DL number now!!! :)

Received the plastic today!!! 35 days mailbox to mailbox!!!

I was checking the mail all week since DPS showed it mailed last Sunday. However, everyone should note "Mailed" doesn't always mean it's in the mail.

That being said, I think DPS is doing a great job working through the applications!!!

It felt good to be armed and fully capable to defend myself, my family, or others if needed. I've carried a weapon before; however, never concealed. My only concern was that someone could see it printing when I bent over, but I can't say I was really worried about about it... :)
